Turkey Run State Park
back near central Indiana is a interesting state park filled with trails to hike for all levels of active hikers.

The sandstone canyons are interesting for this region and tell a tale of the past times of how the last Holocene has effected this area with glacial run-off.

I took a day trip out to central Indiana where Turkey Run State Park is located and hiked through just about every trail they had out there.

Turkey Run State Park
Turkey Run is a nice state park with a lot of camping and a lot of people, At least when I was there, there were a lot of people.

It reminded me of Starved Rock State Park with the sandstone cliffs and a river to cross.

What makes this place interesting is a narrow canyon that has been carved by water which is rather interesting to see and the other narrow canyons in the area that are not slot canyons but have some narrow sections.
Gorge Falls Indiana

Afterwards I went to visit Gorge Falls which is a short narrow canyon but it is worth the visit and is beautiful to walk through with the potholes and the moss covered walls.  This is an oddity of sorts as this is not common for this area.  I highly recommend visiting both places for a day trip or a weekend get away.
