NOT CHARLIES FOLLY CAVE, NEVADA

May 23, 2017

“ Hey Kyle, check out the screen. I am going to be over Charlie’s folly in a bit” “ so Kyle, here is Charlie’s folly cave, now I am going to go south as I have planned...wait, this is Charlie’s folly”... “ now I am confused, let me go back and see...ummmm wow there are two holes, one is Charlie’s and this is...? I have no idea!!!” That is how the conversation went when not Charlie’s folly cave was located.

Fast forwarding into the future, we hiked up to view the cave and push the leads that were in this cave the entrance was a downclimb that went more than 100 ft down the fiery colored ceiling and walls.
As the sun crept its way around, sunbeams peered thr
ough the entrances lighting up the reds and oranges while the dust from our dwelling casted a warm hue into the atmosphere around us.

Lights could be turned off as the sunbeams illuminated the surroundings. We continued to push the passage that started off as a bit of a squeeze and opened up a bit to a faulted and slanted passage with a room at the end.

The passage continued down a sketchy down climb where a hand line would have been helpful. This co to yes down into a very dusty and popcorn room. There were a few formations and it appeared that the cave ended here.

With this passage and it’s close proximity to Charlie’s, I can guess that they are indeed very close to one another.

We will have to go back to observe this and see if the two can be connected.

As of 1/23/2020 I was able to survey the cave with Chris McMahan setting stations and surveyed the cave to 300.5 feet in length with the deepest point being at almost 95 feet. There is a lead in the back right and a potential dig that could get more cave but the potential for a connection to be made between charlies and not charlies, although close, is highly unlikely.
