Yannick in Buttercup canyon
After Miracle Max canyon, we had a lot of time left so we hiked back up the mountain and traversed the ridge to the head of buttercup canyon.

Buttercup canyon is rated at a 3AIII for its straightforward drops but its approach and exit is between 7-9 hours, car to car

Buttercup had around 6 raps and some down climbs with the longest rap at 200ft.  It was a bit intimidating to go over the 200ft rap for some odd reason, it felt like it was more than 200ft. and that the rope was not going to be long enough so we rigged to lower and had backups ready.  Once I got over the edge I could see around 10ft of rope at the bottom so it was just a bit of an optical illusion.

The views were pretty nice and the raps were decent.  I think this is a great canyon to combine with another in the area.

We had to replace some of the anchors as they were completely washed away and without a trace.  Please bring more webbing to replace additional anchors where needed.

We were running out of day light so we had to do a bit of leap frogging but we made it down and out just in time for the sun to set.

I enjoyed miracle max a bit more than buttercup canyon but it was a nice round off to the day and a great variation in the princess bridge range.
