Delamar Dry Lake is a n ancient dry lake that is a playa around 3 mile across and a mile and a half in width. The Dry Lake is apart of the BLM so access is open to anyone looking to visit this remote location of solitude.

Established in 1943, Delamar Dry lake was designated as an emergency landing site for the X-15 and other military aircraft. 

NASA has also employed staging and testing projects at Delamar dry lake, so this place has seen some attention from a nearby ghost town to modern technology.

There is also a nearby Ghost town that was used for mining minerals out of the mountain some time ago. 

We were surprised to see how desolate Delamar Dry lake was and how much solitude you can find yourself in with coming to this location. This place is perfect for a spot to get away from everything and just enjoy the surroundings in a obscure place. 

We were also pleased to see that is BLM land and you are able to drive your car out on Delamar Dry Lake!  After driving for about a mile on the lake, we encountered wide tire track marks which appear to indicate that the run way was, or use to be right here. 

It was rather hot out there but the ground had a baked and glossy looking clay alkali floor that kept the ground nice and cool.  

Tank was not too interested in the heat but when the sun went down, he go to experience some great freedom and run around at his own will. 

I cant wait to come back to this location in the future. It is around 5000ft in elevation so it can get cold out here in the winter time.
