Surrounded by oil refineries is this eroded land feature which has been pushed back into the badlands of the Northeast Utah's Uinta Basin.

The land surrounding Fantasy Canyon is rather flat, featureless, and dull with the exception of the mountain's in the foreground but this work of erosion is one of the most interesting places in the southwest.

The trail is rather short but the alien like bio mechanical structures cast an eerie personality when walking through the corridor somewhat colorless and gray spires.

This was one of the most interesting works of erosion I have ever seen anywhere on the planet and with the horizontal sandstone layers that have eroded through the veins of these sculpted figurines, I couldn't help but to feel like I was walking through the ship of the Prometheus.

 much of the area resembles piles of irregularly stacked planks, or bones, but the rock also erodes along vertical joints to form very thin pinnacles.  I know H.R. Giger would love this place.

It was unfortunate that it was rather cloudy when I was there so even though the photos turned out a little flat, the atmosphere of my surroundings when walking through the canyon were quite dark and industrial.

There were also elements of Magnetite infused into the clay which added a little bit of personality but the color is basically a featureless design of bones and alien looking spires.

This canyon reminded me a bit of Iron Hoop caves Bone room back in Alabama with how the pillars and spires looked at both locations.

If you are within 3-4 hours from vernal, I highly recommend stopping by and checking out this place as access is pretty easy to get to and the beauty behind all of this is something you will not see anywhere else in Utah.
