Cueva Sardine number 2. Colombia
Cueva Sardine number 2 is a Andean Range high altitude cave located in the El Penon region.

The cave is actually two caves that have been formed by a river moving out of one cave, sardine 1 and into another cave sardine 2 and eventually exiting back onto the surface.

The hike to the cave was a beautiful like through bog like grasslands with limestone spires standing out of the rock.

Once we got to the entrance we entered and followed the canyon passage down through a series of small waterfalls and boulder chocks that we had to climb around.  Along the way we passed by some galleries of formations and got to some mud piles that acted more like mud sucking quick sand rather than easy mud walking.
We turned back right before the exit to get some photos of the cave and one of our team mentioned that this is the smallest cave that he has seen in this region!

Interesting to think of how large these caves are in relativity to how other caves are in places.

Sardine 1 cave is a crawl through the water and eventaully opens up into some walking passage with a siphon at the end.
