IMO Micro death hollow is one of the best canyons in escalante. I found this canyon to be relatively short, rich with variety, and a personality that doesn’t give up the goods 

The canyon has a 280 rap into a potential keeper pothole.   This pot hole was dry but when we got into it, we found that a partner assist is a easy out, no problem. 

We took our time to get down this and once we passed the first challenge we were stemming across some water to a clearing where the canyon opened up a bit. 

Ahh. A bit of walking until we got into the narrow section, and it got pretty tight. It wasn’t too tight where a 180 lb person can’t get through but it was a good tummy rubber. 

Continuing down we encountered some water to wade through than the final section appeared. 

We found some potholes with partner assist options and a rap that we got crafty with some potshots. The last rap was a nice drop into the river below. 

Hiking up the river was a beautiful stage to exit up the checkerboard mesa. The views were incredible as we got to the top. I left the 330 rope that I used at the first rap so I hiked back down and pulled the rope up and made back to the cars right after the rest of the team made it.
