The Blue John Canyon system is a network of canyons in the robber's roost region. 

There are many forks throughout this system of canyons and choosing the right flavor for the day is important for the type of effort you want to put into the day. 

On our trip, we selected to get into Little Blue John canyon and exit out horseshoe

There are two options to exit blue john after heading down little blue but if you want a full day with some backpack hiking at the end, little blue is a good starting point. 

Little Blue is somewhat short but scenic 

We encountered a couple raps in this canyon with a few downclimbs

It was straightforward to work around the challenges as a team 

and we got out of the canyon in good time. 

This only took a couple hours to get through the technical part. 

Then we went into a couple miles of hiking down canyon into the lower section of blue john. 

The entrance rap into little blue was nice

The exit out of little blue and into the wash is also quite nice as you hike down into the lower canyon of blue john. 

Make sure you research the route that you want to take so you are prepared for what to expect when entering the canyon.
