Cueva De la Cassa Virgin is a shelter cave located just off the main road, North of El Penon in Colombia.

The cave is just one room with a statue of the virgin mary in the back looking out of the cave.

We did not find any passage in or around the cave except for a pond of water where a small waterfall from the
rock feeds the outside pond.

The shelter cave had some large formations but other than that, it is just a beautiful shelter cave.

We were staying right across the street at the speleo Finca for cave research and exploration so the cave makes for a great backdrop to the environment that we like to look for caves in.

The region of El Penon has hundreds of caves and has some beautiful surface terrain so we were grateful to be have been able to visit the area.
