Just outside of las vegas is a nice limestone range with Mississippian era limestone called the La Madre wilderness.  People have enjoyed hiking through out this wilderness but there has not been much cave exploration going on among the area.  On-going ridge walking has been occurring to identify caves within the La Madre wilderness.

 The limestone is fantastic with some portions showing signs of very porous and solutional features with popcorm, flow stone drapery, small formations, and colorful mineralized infusion within the limestone.  On-going exploration will continue in the area.  If you know of any cave entrances that have been spotted please reach out to me our the Southern Nevada Grotto.
