HEAPS CANYON

May 29, 2025

After almost 20 years of realizing how amazing Zion National Park is and my desire to seek topless, less convertible caving without ceilings, I have finally got to the last canyon I felt was worthy of a visit in Zion, Heaps!

A 3 am start made for a full value day in one of the most beautiful sections of the park.

Stepping away from my business and being with friends was the absolute best part of this trip.

The golden years never seem to be happening in the present but in hindsight.

I chose to view the present with a historians frame of mind. How will my future self like to remember one of the most memorable canyons on the planet with incredible friends?

How am I really going to capture the present, rather than capturing the the present through light photons?
I put the fancy camera away and the focus turned from a lens to the genuine laughs we had, the details in the sandstone, the loud interesting sounding frog, letting go of leading, and being, and of course the humbling CHILLS from not a properly configured wetsuit of mine, all made these moments in time the only place would ever want to be at those moments.

I will look back at years from know and say " We were living the essence of life other people attempt to buy and can never fathom to dream ".

Yet there was really only one reason why we did it.. The Nookie!
