The day before we knocked out Sundance canyon.
Now we grabbed Wilbur canyon on the way back to vegas.
The road to Wilbur is quite bumpy and riddled with lava which can puncture tires.
Be careful if you decide to head into Wilbur
We found the canyon to be quite straightforward, less water than Sundance, and the sneak route to be quite sneaky.
We replaced one of the anchors and noticed another brand-new anchor with knots tied in a configuration that created some interesting vector forces.
The lower section of Wilbur was the best part.
We found raps in quick succession and some great scenery
The last rap into West Clear Creek was fantastic, we rappel right into the water and it was beautiful.
One rap had a log that we had to dance across as it rolled when we walked across it.
The swim across to clear creek was beautful.
We had some interesting scrambling to get out through.
of course, everyone wanted to go the way they though was right, except the right way.
after a few wrong turns, some scrambling around the cliff, and working our way to the top the remainder ok the hike was straightforward.
We completed this canyon in 4 hours time which was the same as the day before.
both canyons are well worth the effort.
