Dakota Drew and Jamie Goodwin in Peshio Cave, Nevada |
After we got back to Ely From Eureka, We grabbed some lunch and headed over to the range where Peshio Cave is located. I wanted to get the group up to another cave and check out some more Nevada caves, so we decided to camp up on the range.

We got as far up the road as possible in Justin's 4 Runner where we had a beautiful view of the basin below and a great place
to camp on a slightly sloping decline.

The following morning, we woke up to a herd of Elk running down the mountain as their hooves clamped down on the limestone.
In the distance, I could hear some shots being fired so I am sure that hunting season has started.

We woke up and broke down camp so we could head out and back to Las Vegas in good time. The Hike up to the entrance was steep so it took a little longer than anticipated. The elevation we got up to was around 7200ft.
Another entrance in Peshio Cave, Nevada |
We went into one entrance and there was some crawling in dusty rat piss and shit until we broke out into a standing room. We continued down and shortly after, we made it to the coral room.

This room was quite interesting. There was folia, popcorn, formations, and some other residue like material on the walls and on the formations inside of this room. Looking at the details, the room was actually quite detailed and busy inside.

We walked up to the back of the room and there was some interesting flowstone formations with an abundant amount of popcorn on the walls.

We snapped a few photos of this passage and the previous room which proved to show a lot of interesting gypsum formations on the walls and ceiling!

We found the main entrance when we hiked out so instead of crawling through the ratscat, we walked out of the main entrance.

This was a very interesting cave to visit and I am glad we got a chance to go to this cave. There is a lot of interesting mineralogy going on within this 730ft cave so I am glad that we can protect this place as much as possible.
