Pot-O-Gold Lava tube cave is almost at 1.4 miles in length and is the third longest lava tube cave on the Continental United States.

This cave has a large stunk passage that continues into a breakdown pile which can make travelling through the cave slow going but it is mainly large trunk passage walking cave.

There are some formations that decorate the walls but towards the back of the cave is where one can find the formations.  We did not make it back to the end of the cave yet I have been told that it is worth the visit but it is not a destination that needs to be sought out.

We continued on and eventually turned around to make it back in time so we were not too tired from the driving which turned out to be an all night trip.

The cave itself is beautiful and I loved how large the passages were and to think that this was all flowing lava at one point, put us in perspective as to the grandeur of the vulcanospeleological actions the happened here thousands of years ago.
