Bobcat pit is an Arizona Sinkhole that is on private property so permission from the landowner is requested before visiting this pit.  I spoke with the landowner and he was very generous and helpful in his explanation of the history surrounding the region. 

 The basalt surface collapsed onto the redwall limestone where a cavity was dissolved, under the basalt layer, forming this sinkhole. 

 We found some passage but the sink seeps all of the water that is taken from this sinkhole so there is a substantial amount of dried up silt to dig through.

 It s interesting to see the basalt layers that were formed by ancient lava beds and it was even more interesting to see the wildlife that made a habitat within this karst feature.
