Darwin Falls is a nice little canyon that is back on a 2 mile road just past Paniment Valley in Death Valley National Park in California.

This canyon has a steady flow of spring water that comes out of the mountain with some heavy growth and plant life, that includes a hanging garden on the rappels.

We hiked up and around the mountain for a more of a scenic view of the valley and dropped into the top of the canyon itself.

The first drop is 110 feet in its total vertical extent that takes you through a nice fluted waterfall with hanging gardens and not so freezing cold water.

The second rappel went down another 50ft to the canyon floor where people walk up to the waterfall from the bottom up. This is a very interesting place for death valley as there is nothing that appears to be alive except for these springs that bring all kinds of life into the canyon.
